Source Profiling

Another great feature of the system is Source Profiling in which the system gathers a wealth of information about the sources: the websites, blogs or twitter accounts where content was published.

Similar to the Mentions page, you’ll see two immediate options of viewing your source results. Sort By options that include alphabetical, reverse-chronological order, and the most buzz. Further to the right in the blue toolbar, you’ll see Show Only options of watchlist and blacklist sources.

Moving down to the individual source profile listings, you will again see the source’s favicon, the source URL, which in this case actually provides you with a full source profile. If you click on the URL, you’ll go to what Tattler calls the source profile where you can find additional information including the number of Tattler mentions, a Technorati ranking, which relates to the number of sources that point to a particular blog. For the Technorati ranking, be sure to note that the higher the authority number, the more influential the blog is said to be. You’ll also see a Compete ranking, which is a traffic-based ranking. In the case of Compete, a lower the number, the more traffic the website gets. For example, Compete’s #1 rank right now is Google. You can also add sources to your watchlist or blacklist from the Source Detail page.
